Joseph W. Resig

     Joseph W. Resig 79, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Walter and Ida (Harney) Resig. On May 9, 1970 he married Bonnie (Shaw) Resig who survives along with four children: Tina Troy and husband Mike, of Roaring Spring, Toni Giffin, of Martinsburg, Robin Resig, of Roaring Spring, and Joey Resig and significant other Kim, of Johnstown; 13 grandchildren: 18 great-grandchildren: and a brother Michael Resig and wife Linda, of Altoona. He was preceded in death by a sister Cecelia Richardson, and a brother Edward Resig.

     Joe was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, and attended the Altoona School of Commerce where he obtained his associates degree in business administration and accounting. He served in the US Navy from 1965 until 1969 in Da Nang, Vietnam, on the USS St. Francis River. Joe worked for Barkmans Mobil where he made many lifelong friendships. He was well known for his vast knowledge of any topic, and enjoyed history and si-fi. Joe was a member of the Murray-Appleman American Legion Post 147, in Roaring Spring.

     Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg, and again on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Garettson officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
