Joyce Leon (Lason) Gardner

Joyce Leon (Lason) Gardner, 71, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday morning, December 9, 2024 at her home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born in Meadville, daughter of the late James Leon and Shirley Ann (Snyder) Lason.  Joyce was married to the late Larry G. Gardner.

Surviving are a grandson, Caleb Runkle (Jessie) of East Freedom; four sisters: Victoria Gillette, Sherie Cain (Jim) both of Bellefonte, Cynthia Lingenfelter (Joseph) in Florida and Phyllis Lason of Martinsburg; a brother, James Lason (Amy) in Arizona, numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Chaz.

She was preceded in death a daughter, Paula Lynn Runkle; a son, William James Lason; and a sister, Linda Brumbaugh.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed planting gardens and completing numerous arts and crafts.

A celebration of life service is being planned for July and will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
