Juanita Rose Smith

November 6, 1943 ~ February 13, 2024

On February 13, 2024, Juanita Rose “Nita” Smith passed away quietly in her own home, surrounded by loved ones and five very contented cats.

Nita spent 36 years behind the deli counter in Williamsburg; greeting everyone with “Hi Sweetie-pie” and handing out smiles, cookies, food, and well wishes to everyone she met.

She is survived by her two daughters: Terry Lynn Wagner and Melanie Rose Rutledge; and four grandchildren: Helen Wagner, Cady Smith, James Wagner, and Keegan Smith.

Nita was preceded in death by her husband, John Horace Smith, to whom she was married for 56 years, and two sons, David Lee Smith and John Clinton Smith.

Thank you for making our lives sweeter. We love you and will miss you very much. Bye Bye Sweetie-pie!
