K. Joanne Defibaugh, 75, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday evening, November 22, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Melvin H. and Kathryn R. (Graybill) Summers.
Surviving are a daughter, Sheri L. Defibaugh of Martinsburg; a son, Scott M. Defibaugh (Nicole Sottile) of New Enterprise; two grandsons, Marshal D. Leach (Keirsten) and Bradan S. Defibaugh; three great-grandchildren: Oaklynn, Irelynn and Rahlee; four brothers: Wayne Summers (Nancy), Walter Summers (Victoria), Charles Summers (Peggy) and Richard Summers; and two sisters: Janet L. Pheasant and Linda M. Ayers (Denny).
She was preceded in death by five brothers: John Summers, Herbert Summers, Harold Summers, Ralph Summers and Gerald “Bill” Summers.
Joanne was a 1967 graduate of Central High School and worked as Typesetter and Ad and Layout Designer for the Morrisons Cove Herald for many years.
She was a longtime, active member of Mt. Pleasant Church, rural Martinsburg, where she served with the Women’s Guild, Church Consistory and as church secretary.
Joanne loved spending time with her family, especially with her grand and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Friends will be received from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and from 10 until 11am, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the funeral home where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor Warren Tenley officiating. Private interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
