Kenneth W. “Ken” Bowers, 73, of Roaring Spring, passed away Thursday evening, April 11, 2024 at Homewood at Martinsburg.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Jack W. and Anna Mae (Keith) Bowers. On November 23, 1974, he married Kathy S. Huntsman at the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Kathy of 49 years; a son, Aaron J. Bowers (Tanna) of Roaring Spring; a daughter, Angela K. Wright (Greg) of Casa Grande, AZ; three grandchildren: Annabel G. Shippey, Alice J. Bowers, and Jacqueline M. Bowers; two sisters: Susan E. Aungst (Rickie) of New Enterprise and Jenny L. Meadows (James) of Duncansville; and a brother, Allen J. Bowers (Jeannie) of Newport, PA.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Shane B. Huntsman.

Ken was a 1968 graduate of Central High School. In 2010, he retired as a machinist from Norfolk Southern, where he worked at the Samuel Rae Car Shop, Hollidaysburg, and Juniata Locomotive Shop, Altoona, with a total of 40 years of service.

He was a member of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where he served as Sunday School Treasurer for several years.

Ken achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed photography and videography.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
