Kenneth G. Detwiler, 76, of Martinsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday morning February 27, 2025 at Maple Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ebensburg.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Kenneth Ross and Glenna Mae (Bowers) Detwiler.  Ken was twice married, first to Lauretta M. Miller on January 31, 197O in Altoona and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2003.  He then married Mary “Cindy” (Ball) Smith on August 5, 2006 at the Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring and she passed away on July 4, 2024.

Surviving are three sons: Bryan G. Detwiler (Dawn) of Martinsburg, Andrew J. Detwiler (Dawn) of Gulf Port, MS and Tom D. Detwiler (Tammy) of Martinsburg; six grandchildren: Shannon, Jacob, Jamie, David, Andrew Jr. "Drew" and Shelby Dawn Detwiler; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Lauretta expected in June; a step-daughter, Kathryn “Katie” Thomas; a step-son, James Smith both of Martinsburg; a step-granddaughter: Mary Sue Thomas (Sean Houston); and a brother, George Anthony Detwiler (Rose) of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Louise Waite.

Ken was a 1966 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg.  He worked in sales for several years and also did carpentry, remodeling and lamp repairs.  In 1982 Ken went into ministry as pastor at the Martinsburg Church of God and served various churches until retiring from Six Mile Run Church of God.

He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.  Ken also enjoyed woodworking and fixing things for family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 8:30 am, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Martinsburg Church of God, Pastor Jim Neely officiating, inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

Contributions in memory of Ken may be given to Six Mile Run Church of God, 1281 Main St., Six Mile Run, PA 16679.
