Kenneth W. “Ken” Hershey, 79, of Roaring Spring, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. He was born on December 25, 1946 in West Chester; son of the late E. Ross and Reba (Wenger) Hershey. On July 26, 1975 in Downingtown, he was united in marriage to Veronica E. (Andrews) Hershey; she preceded him in death on June 19, 2021.

Ken attended Downingtown High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1965 – 1968. He retired from Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company as a heavy equipment operator. Ken attended Geeseytown Newry Evangelical Lutheran Parish, Hollidaysburg. He was a lifetime member of both the NRA and Honey Brook American Legion, Post 422. Ken enjoyed guns, reloading ammunition, being outdoors, four-wheeler rides, camping, mechanics, engines, and was an avid bird watcher who loved driving his Kubota around the neighborhood.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica “Ronnie”; a grandson, Dakota A. Ott; and siblings: Aletha, Myron, Elvin, Floyd, Chester, and Lester. Surviving is daughter, Jennifer Hershey of Altoona; daughter, Denise Clark (Gene) of Montoursville; grandchildren: Aidan (Melody), Gabrielle, Liam, Randi, Kyle, Kody (Abby), and Kaylea (Chris); brother, Lynn Hershey; family, Betsey Harrop (Bruce) and children Kevin, Trisha (Charles), and Paul (Melissa); as well as numerous friends and neighbors who considered him the “unofficial mayor of Plum Creek."

Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service at Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury. Private Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery with military honors.
