Kevan L. “Cooter” Gochnour, 59, Roaring Spring, died Friday morning at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of A. Fay and Dorothy (Sell) Gochnour. He married Susan L. Corle on Dec. 9, 1994, in Cumberland, Md.
Surviving are his parents of Roaring Spring; his wife; two sons: Justin (Shelby) of New Enterprise and Brandon (Angela) of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Christy McGhee (Harry) of New Enterprise; two stepsons: Brad Meck of Everett and Adam Meck (Kayla) of Roaring Spring; 11 grandchildren: Ashley, Alissa, Austin, Kolton, Tanner, Brooke, Kalvan, Landon, Eli, Karis and Lilly; and two brothers: Randy (Jackie) in Oregon and Evan (Debra) of Roaring Spring.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Chelsea.
Kevan was a 1971 graduate of Central High School. He worked at New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. He belonged to the Brethren Church and attended the Church of God, Roaring Spring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the outdoors.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
