LaRue H. Hauser, 85, resident of Altoona Center for Nursing Care, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday morning at the center.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Richard and Esther (Grove) Hetzel.  On August 20, 1955 she married Charles B. Hauser at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Charlie; two sons: Rick M. Hauser (Jody DeFore) of North Port, FL and Scott A. (Lesa Ann) Hauser of Venice, FL; a grandson, Adam (Hannah) Hauser of Huntingdon; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Hauser and Shirley Conlon, both of Altoona.

LaRue was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Elaine Hauser.

She was a 1951 graduate of Williamsburg High School and LaRue also received a secretarial degree from the Altoona School of Commerce.

After finishing school LaRue began working for the Frank Insurance Company and then The Big D. (department store) both in Williamsburg.  She retired in 1995 as a teacher’s aide for the IU8 program at the Williamsburg Elementary School with over 20 years of service.

LaRue was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg where she formerly taught Sunday school and was a former member of the Williamsburg Women’s Civic Club.  She loved spending time her family and also enjoyed cooking, baking and reading.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, March 16, 2018 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be recited.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Aron Maghsoudi celebrant.  Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
