Lawrence Paul "Larry" Graper

Lawrence Paul "Larry" Graper, 76, of Martinsburg, passed away late Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Kearney, NE, son of Donald L. Graper and the late Shirley E. (Visser) Graper.
Surviving are his father, Don of Kearney, NE; a daughter, Stacy L. Freeman (Bret) of Hugo, OK; two sons: Ryan S. Graper (Kimberlee) of Aurora, CO and Shane D Graper (Rebecca) of Castle Rock, CO; four grandchildren: Braydon, Kole, Ellie and Ankara Graper; and two sisters: Deanna Serr of Kearney, NE and Donna Myers of Grand Island, NE.
Larry was preceded in death on April 16, 2021, by his longtime companion, Josette Ann Frye.
He was a 1965 graduate of Wood River Rural High School in Nebraska. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a paratrooper from 1966 until 1968, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Larry owned and operated L.P. Graper Construction in Denver, Co for 33 years, where he worked alongside his family for many years.
He attended Diehl’s Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, where he served as Ride Captain.
Larry loved working with his family and fixing things, especially computers.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11am, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery, rural Martinsburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
