Lena M. Detwiler, 102, resident of Homewood at Martinsburg formerly of rural Martinsburg, passed away Friday afternoon at Homewood.
She was born in Saxton, daughter of the late Adam C. and Ida P. (Steele) Harvey. On November 24, 1947 she married Harry R. Detwiler in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2002.
Surviving is a son, Michael W. Detwiler of rural Martinsburg. Lena was the last of her immediate family of 10 children.
She was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and was primarily a housewife who enjoyed quilting, needlework, painting and puzzles.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg, Rev. Jerry McCuller Jr. officiating.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Rd., Everett, PA 15537.
