Linda A. Kitchen

Linda A. Kitchen, 77, rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday at home.
She was born in Covedale, daughter of the late John C. and Elizabeth F. (Hicks) Traxler. She married Melvin L. Kitchen on Sept. 17, 1959, in Cumberland, Md. He passed away Oct. 1, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters: Robin Houp and husband, Barry, of rural Roaring Spring and Heidi A. Kitchen of Williamsburg; a grandson, Shane Houp; two brothers: John Traxler of Williamsburg and Pastor Roger Traxler of Osceola Mills; and her cats.
She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Lynn Kitchen, on Nov. 30, 2015; an infant sister, Marjorie June; her in-laws, Milford and Violet Kitchen; and a sister-in-law, Linda Kitchen.
She was a 1957 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a former member of the Williamsburg Church of God. She enjoyed reading, poetry, music, flowers and animals.
Linda was a loving and devoted mother to her children and many other children in the area; she was generous to a fault.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Inc., Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue or the American Cancer Society.
