Lois C. (Hess) Weaver

Lois C. Weaver (Hess), 83, of Woodbury, passed away on November 22, 2016 at Altoona UPMC. Born in Lancaster on March 25, 1933, the daughter of Henry M. and Lottie (Hersh) Hess. On July 18, 1959 in Mount Joy, she married S. Gerald Weaver who preceded her in death on December 23, 1999. Lois was a beloved school teacher for the Northern Bedford School District for 40 years and a vital part of the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home. She was an active member of the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Lois enjoyed reading her bible, walking, knitting, and puzzles. She was a member of the Cove Community Club, the Woodbury Senior Citizens, as well as many more. Survivors include, son Sheldon H. Weaver (Dana) of Martinsburg and grandchildren Jessica Brumbelow (Michael) of Georgia, and Shannon, Grant, and John Henry Weaver. Also surviving are sisters Mary Wingerd, Rhoda Heisey, and Anna Ruth Hostetter as well as sister-in-law Shelby Shoemaker. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 3:00PM-8:00PM at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury as well as Monday, November 28, 2016 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church. At 11:00AM, Monday, a Funeral Service will be held with Pastors Michael Abell and Earl Herr officiating. Interment at Dry Hill Cemetery.
