Madelyn (Shradley) Oldham, 90, of Bethany Towers in Mechanicsburg, went home to be with her Lord on January 8, 2018. She was born in Harrisburg, PA, on August 18, 1927 to the late Lionel Wier and Madeline Mary (Markel) Shradley. She attended high school at Lafayette High School in Buffalo, NY and attended Messiah College, Mechanicsburg. She lived in New Cumberland, PA for 35 years raising her family. She worked at Holy Spirit Hospital in emergency admissions and did bookwork for the family business. She is a member of Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church and a lifetime member of The Gideon’s International Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Kanode Oldham. She is survived by her son, Eugene R. Oldham (Dorothy) of Middletown; daughters, Eva Eckenrode (Dave) of Mechanicsburg, Anna Thompson (Gary) of Harrisburg, J. Kay Stone (Bob) of Middletown, and Mary Smith (Michael) of Dillsburg, PA. She has 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Wier M. Shradley Sr., and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 9:00AM-9:45AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:00AM. All of the above will be held at the Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church, 1050 York St. Mechanicsburg, PA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
