Margaret Jane Wininger a long-time resident of San Diego’s North County, died on August 11, 2018.

Margaret was born as Margaret Furry, on July 2, 1940, along with her twin sister Madeline Furry, on their grandfather and grandmother’s farm (William and Margaret Furry) in Roaring Spring Pennsylvania.

Margaret’s mother was the former Thelma Katherine Metzler and her father was Samuel Carl Furry of Roaring Spring

Margaret received a master’s degree in library science from California State University in Fullerton California.  During her working career she was employed at various times at the Pomona City Library, Carlsbad, Oceanside and San Diego City libraries, the San Diego County Library system and at Palomar College.  Most of Margaret’s employment outside of the home was temporary or part time because she believed that her most important job was being a mother to her children as they grew into adulthood
