Marjorie M. Gunnett, 90, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2019 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Luther H. and Sarah Ellen (Zook) McClure.  On July 20, 1951 she married Richard D. “Dick” Gunnett in Winchester, VA.  He preceded her in death on July 6, 2017.

Surviving are a son, Dean Richard “Rick” (Melissa) Gunnett; a daughter, Jo Ellen Holland both of Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Mandi Prough, CD Gunnett and Dusty Holland; and three great-grandchildren: Laney and Regan Prough and Fin Gunnett.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris Gwin and Dorcas Royer; two brothers: Ralph and Robert McClure; and a half-sister, Lois Shreiner.

Marjorie was a 1947 graduate of Williamsburg Community High School and also received a degree in accounting from the Altoona School of Commerce in 1949.

She assisted her husband with the daily operation of Gunnett’s Garage in Williamsburg, and had also been employed as a secretary for the Williamsburg School District, a tax collector for Catharine Township, a teller for First National Bank, Hollidaysburg and in the Sears Service Center in Altoona.

Marjorie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.  She enjoyed bowling, skiing, riding motorcycles, knitting, reading, gardening and working outside.  Marjorie loved playing cards and was a member of a few Pinochle card clubs over the years.  She was also very proud of earning her solo pilot license, making two solo flights.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 until the 11am funeral service, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.  Private interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Marjorie can be given to Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Station 90 or a local charity of your choice.
