Marjorie L. Clarke, 84, a guest at Homewood at Martinsburg for the past 14 years, formerly of State College, passed away Thursday afternoon at Homewood.

She was born in Oreminea, rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Watson I. and Bessie A. (Hughes) Treese. On October 12, 1958 she married Hugh J. Clarke Jr. in Williamsburg. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Cathy J. Berger of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Merrill I. Treese of Williamsburg; a nephew, Joel Treese of Washington D.C.; 2 nieces: Laura Treese of Wolf Point, Montana and Hope (Treese) Doherty (husband, James) and their son Evan of Columbia, MD; a sister in law, Lois Treese of Mechanicsburg; cherished friend, Dennis Hampton and family of State College; and all her wonderful friends and caregivers at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Donald H. Treese.

Mrs. Clarke was a 1950 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a 1953 graduate of Altoona Hospital School for Nursing.

She was formerly employed as a registered nurse specializing in Pediatrics, and then as a private duty nurse.

Mrs. Clarke was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, State College.

She enjoyed Penn State football and Pittsburgh Pirate baseball.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm, Sunday, June 12, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc, Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 13, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor Heather A. Wurst officiating.

Interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Homewood at Martinsburg or the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
