Martin J. Stayduhar

Martin J. Stayduhar, 81, rural Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning at his son’s home in Canonsburg.
He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Stephen and Frances (Kasun) Stayduhar. On August 1, 1958 he married Coralie R. Whalen at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2015.
Surviving are 2 sons: Stephen B. (wife, Katharine J.) of Canonsburg and Joseph S. (wife, Angela B.) of Williamsburg; 6 grandchildren: Emily, Beth, Mick (Kirstie), Andrew, Matt and Kara; a great-granddaughter, Adaleigh; and 2 sisters: Frances Buchanan and Mary Oliphant.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael P. and a sister, Catherine Inabinette.
Martin was a 1953 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1954 until 1957 attaining the rank of Corporal.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Roaring Spring and was a lifelong dairy farmer who enjoyed woodworking and growing fruit.
Friends will be received from 2-5pm, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be recited. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am, Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Roaring Spring, Father Leo A. Lynch officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
