Mary Elizabeth (Stauffer) Boose, a cottage resident of the Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2024, at the Village, following a brief illness. She was born in Elizabethtown, PA (Lancaster County), the daughter of the late Edward H Stauffer and Marie (Herr) Stauffer. On December 30, 1946, she married Raymond R. Boose in Baltimore MD.

Surviving are four children: Ronald Boose (Mary), Audrey Cooper (Dennis), Melanie Diehl (Fred) and Wendi Butterfoss (Bob); 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her brother, Jack Stauffer, and two great-grandchildren, Weston Garland & Jeremiah Jarrett.

Mary Beth was a 1946 graduate of East Hempfield High School, Lancaster, PA. She earned a BS in Math and English in 1961, and an MS in Education from Indiana University of PA in 1964. She taught 25 years, her last 15 years at NBC HS in Loysburg, PA.

She and her husband served 33 years at numerous PA Church of the Brethren churches, including: Plum Creek, Scalp Level, Indiana, Erie, Oaks and 14 years at Woodbury. Mary Beth helped her husband in his churches by playing piano, organ and conducting various choirs.

Mary Beth and her husband traveled extensively after retirement, visiting most of the USA (including Hawaii and Alaska), Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. One of their favorite spots was Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Canada. They also traveled abroad, including Scandinavia, South America, Australia, Europe and two trips to Germany in 1980 and 1990 to see the Oberammergau Passion Play. Additionally, they were able to reenact Paul’s missionary journeys, visit the Holy Lands, and other sites.

Mary Beth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her husband of 74 years, her family, her church family, her Savior and Lord and all her dear friends.

She loved all kinds of needlework: sewing, knitting, crocheting & embroidery and embroidered a total of 55 baby quilts and various size bed quilts for each of her four children.

Family and friends were received from 5-8pm, Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am., Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren. Inurnment will be held at Replogle Cemetery, Woodbury.
