Mary B. Kasun, 97, resident of Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Ganister, rural Williamsburg passed away late Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the home.

She was born in Valley Forge, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Buben) Bugel.  She married John Kasun on August 14, 1937 in Cumberland, MD.  He preceded her in death on May 8, 1987.

Surviving are 2 sons: Ronald J. (wife, Linda) of Sarasota, FL and John M. Kasun (wife, Sandy) of Duncansville; a granddaughter, Alysia Crawford, (husband, Adrian); 4 great-grandchildren: Anna, Silas, Phinehas and Harriet all of Sarasota, FL; and special friends and wonderful, caring neighbors, Terry and Janet Lee and family.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Mike, Andy and Joe; and 2 sisters: Anna Gombar and Helen Tuskovich.

At the time of her passing, Mary was the oldest parishioner and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg.

Mary was a skilled baker and homemaker.  She was also an excellent gardener with extensive flower gardens around her home in Williamsburg, where she helped others interested in flowers to get started.  Her gardens won numerous awards from the local civic society.  Like her husband, John, Mary was an experienced and successful deer and turkey hunter with many trophies to her credit.

Friends will be received from 10 until the 11am, funeral mass, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Aron M. Maghsoudi celebrant.  Inurnment will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Ambulance Club.
