Mary Kathryn “Kate” Dambeck

Mary Kathryn “Kate” Dambeck, 89, of Martinsburg passed away Saturday morning, January 29, 2022 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Cloyd T. “Toby” and Pearl (Dilling) Russell. On November 27, 1964 she married Louis R. Dambeck in Winchester, VA. He passed away on October 3, 2017 following 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are two sons: James Dambeck of Houston, TX and Steve Clabaugh of Sinking Springs; two daughters: Linda Baney (Ken) of Clearfield and Kathy Smith (Lon) of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Waltz; and three brothers: Richard, Dewalt “Dave” and Donald Russell.
Kate was a 1950 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
She was employed for 37 years at Phillips ECG (Sylvania) in Altoona until its closing. This facility later became Carol Cable Co. (General Cable) where Kate worked for 5 more years, until retiring.
Kate loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed bowling, flower gardening and playing cards.
At Kate’s request there will be no public services and private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Kate may be given to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602 or St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, 115 E. Penn St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
