Mathias E. “Sye” Miller Jr., 60, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Monday afternoon, May 2, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

He was born in Altoona, son of Mathias E. Sr. and the late Florence N. (Marion) Miller.  On September 26, 1981 he married Darlene May Strayer in Port Matilda.  She preceded him in death on February 12, 2006.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Mona Miller of Williamsburg; a daughter, Jacqueline M.F. England (Ethan) of Ford City; a son, Benjamin E. Miller (Katrina) of Ashville; five grandchildren: Regan E. England, Abigail L. England, Zachary E. England, Blake E. Miller and Kaylee May Miller; a sister, Christine E. Allison; a brother, James R. Miller; and a step-sister, Lisa Reighard.

Sye was a 1979 graduate of Williamsburg High School and over the years attended Living Water Family Worship Center, Williamsburg.  He was employed with the Fonda Group, then Westvaco for 17 years and more recently worked as a blacktop roller for Grannas Bros., all in Williamsburg.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and also enjoyed hunting, riding horses and working on anything and everything around their home.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, May 6, 2022 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.  The funeral service will be private and the interment will be held at Sparr Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
