Merle W. Lamborn, 82, of New Enterprise, passed away on November 9, 2015 at Altoona UPMC. Born on February 14, 1933 in Baker’s Summit, the son of Samuel and V. Beulah (Mountain) Lamborn. Merle married Phyllis L. Crissman in Osterburg on May 20, 1958. He was a class of 1951 graduate from Morrison’s Cove. He was in the Army, serving as both active and in the reserves. He retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime where he was a mixer driver. Merle enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with his family and friends, and was a general handyman. He is a past member of the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Merle was preceded in death by two sisters, Alda Lewis and Ruth Kelly, one brother Dale Lamborn, and grandson Alexander Barkman. Survivors include son Wayne E. Lamborn of New Enterprise as well as two daughters; Tammy J. Barkman (Lance) of Roaring Spring and Lesa K. Pressel (Mark) of New Enterprise. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Logan Barkman, Janelle Knab (David), and Joshua Ott and 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Camden Knab. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury and Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Faith United Methodist Church. At 11:00AM on Thursday a Funeral Service will take place with Pastor Mick Dawes officiating. Interment will be a Dry Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by the S.
