Michael John O’Neil

Michael John O’Neil, 74, of Henrico, VA, formerly of Darien, CT, passed away Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025 at his nephew’s home in Martinsburg, PA.  He was born in Darien, CT, son of the late Richard Vaughn O’Neil and Virginia Chloe (Stiles) O’Neil-Vanden Bosch.

Surviving are a sister, Maureen O’Neil of Ellington, CT; and ten nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers: Brian H. O’Neil and David A. O’Neil.

Michael was raised in the Presbyterian faith and was a 1971 graduate of the American School for the Deaf in Hartford, CT.  He retired in 2018 as a master machinist from Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, CT, with 46 years of service.

He loved collecting and repairing antique cuckoo clocks and international travel.  Michael was extremely talented in mechanical skills and possessed the ability to fix or build about anything.

The family is planning a celebration of life gathering for a later date.  Arrangements are by John K.
