Michael I. Steward

Michael I. Steward, 80, of Roaring Spring, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1945 in Ore Hill; son of the late Clarence and Winifred (Kennedy) Steward. On October 26, 1963 at the Roaring Spring Church of God, he was united in marriage to Betsy (Brumbaugh) Steward.

Michael was owner and operator of Steward Bros. Sanitation with his brother, Sonny. He was a member of the Jaffa Shriners, Woodbury Lodge No. 539, and Grace Fellowship Church. Michael enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, camping, and talking with his friends. He LOVED his family and his greatest joy was spending time with them.

Michael was preceded in death by his son Randy in 2012; and a brother, Sonny Steward. Surviving are his wife, Betsy; daughter, Robin Steward-Reffner (husband, Dave); daughter-in-law, Jayne Steward; grandchildren: Rocky (Brandon), Heather, Holly (Brandon), and Randi (Nate); and great-grandchildren: Raylynn and Weston.

Family and close friends will be received on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 10:00AM until the 12:00 NOON Funeral Service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Dave Cunningham officiating. Interment will be in Holsinger Cemetery – Bakers Summit.
