Michael Syroid, 97, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Saturday morning, February 16, 2019, at the home.

He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Wasyl and Theodora (Kuzma) Syroid.

Michael was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and a great uncle and great-great uncle to their extended families.  He was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna, Marie Stafirski-Stafford and Catherine Drosjack; and a brother, Walter.

Michael was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Johnstown, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

There will be no funeral services at this time.  A memorial mass will be announced in the spring.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
