Michelyn B. Hatch

Michelyn B. Hatch, 71, of Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away on July 20, 2025 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center – Roaring Spring. She was born on December 14, 1953 in Woodbury; daughter of the late Arlan D. and Dolores J. (Pepple) Barkman.

Michelyn taught Foreign Language (Spanish and French) for Williamsburg Community School District for 35 years. Afterwards, she worked for her family’s business in Woodbury, Barkman Oil Company. Michelyn was an avid reader, especially with her Kindle.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Alex Barkman. Surviving is her husband, Richard J. Hatch; brother, Dirk Barkman (Marcia) of Martinsburg; brother, Lance Barkman (Tammy) of Roaring Spring; and nieces and nephews, Dr. Kiel Barkman, Kella Boyer (Landon), and Logan Barkman.

Receiving of Friends will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Homewood Living Martinsburg – Bice Memorial Chapel from 9:45AM until the 10:30AM Celebration of Life Memorial Service; Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating.
