Mildred M. “Sis” Price, 89, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday afternoon, January 22, 2021 at her home.

She was born at home in Clappertown, daughter of the late Roy Herbert and Marcella A. (Tate) Umbower.  On June 30, 1952 she married John D. Price in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2005.

Surviving are three sons: John H. (Charlotte) Price of Martinsburg, Lester Price and Delmas Price; and two daughters: Missy Price and Georgia Mae Walls all of Williamsburg; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Helen Despot, Pauline Nicodemus and Cheryl Umbower.

Sis was preceded in death by a great-great-grandson, Philip Raymond Price; and two sisters: Louise Creamer and Emma Thomas.

She was longtime member of Williamsburg Church of God.  Sis was primarily a homemaker, who also worked at the Carousel Restaurant (Gilda’s) and Bob Estep’s Store (Rats) both in Williamsburg and cleaned residential homes for many years.

Sis loved spending time with her family and was a longtime follower and friend of LaVerne Tripp of the Blue Ridge Quartet.  She also enjoyed collecting cook books, quilting, embroidery, baking and making deserts.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Rev. James D. Spivey officiating.  Interment will follow at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
