Milo C. Uber

Also known as Milo C. “Bud”,“Charlie”, or”Chuck” Uber to family and friends, 80, Martinsburg, passed away Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Monroeville, son of the late Milo N. and Blanche E. (Miller) Uber. He married Nancy A. Rearick on July 6, 1968.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 46 years; 4 daughters: Susan Milan (Maurice) of El Cajon, CA, Betz Uber (Ibrahim Badrawi) of Gilbert, AZ, Cynthia Uber of Tucson, AZ, and Michelle Kletzli (Matthew) of Bethesda, MD; a son, Steve (Brenda) of Buffalo Mills; several grand and great grandchildren; a sister, Joy Hanson of Plymouth, MI; a niece; and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Beatty.
Bud was a 1952 graduate of Turtle Creek High School and he also received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1956 from Penn State University School of Forestry and Horticulture.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving for 2 years and was stationed in GA.
Bud retired from Pennsylvania Power & Light, Allentown as a system forester after 27 years of service and had previously been employed with Nittany Timberlands of State College.
He was a wonderful father who was an avid hunter, marksman, outdoorsman, pilot, violinist, mentor, missionary volunteer for “On Eagles Wings”, and an ice cream sundae connoisseur. Bud loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting moose, bear, deer, and small game but he especially cherished elk hunting in Colorado. He shared his love and passion of the sport by teaching both friends and family the arts of marksmanship and hunting.
Bud was always active and diligent in his pursuit of excellence in everything he did, including being so generous with his time in serving others.
A private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg with Pastor Judith Simonson and Pastor Ed Harshbarger officiating. Interment with military flag honors to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
