Miriam E. Over

Miriam E. Over, 88, of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Monday morning, February 13, 2023, at her home.

She was born in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Shannon Henry and Blanche Elizabeth (Stern) Oldham.  Miriam was married to Maynard A. Over, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2013.

Surviving are three sons: William A. Over of Huntingdon, Chester L. Over (Mary) and Ronald S. Over (Mary Ann); a daughter-in-law, Cathy D. Over, all of Williamsburg;  five grandchildren: Sherry Smithmyer, Kristina Ayers, Jay Over, Kelly Lowery and Clayton Over; and three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Grace and Joshua.

She was preceded in death by three sons: Dale E., Glen R. and Larry W. Over; three brothers: Lee Jay, Paul S. and Charles H. Oldham; and two sisters: Dorothy M. and Margaret Mary Oldham.

Miriam attended Morrisons Cove High School in Martinsburg.  She was a longtime, faithful member of Fairview Church of the Brethren, Williamsburg, where she formerly taught Sunday school.  Miriam was also a member of the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a loving homemaker, who also enjoyed playing bingo, adult coloring books, doing word search puzzles and traveling, especially taking bus trips.

Friends will be received from 10 am until noon, Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Fairview Church of the Brethren, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at noon, Pastor Alan E. Brumbaugh officiating.  Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
