Mona Lee Selwitz

Mona Lee Selwitz, 77, Altoona, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday morning, July 14, 2020, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles E. and Esther R. (Simington) Ellis. On August 19, 1967, she married James E. Selwitz in Altoona and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2019.
Surviving are a sister, Cathy D. (Doug) Dean of Indianapolis, IN; numerous family and friends that she dearly loved; and her beloved dog, Cassie.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles “Chic” Ellis, Russell C. Ellis, and Francis W. Ellis; and two sisters: Joanne Smith and infant Anne Louise Ellis.
Mona Lee was a 1960 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She then completed her education at the Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown, MD, and worked in the local medical community for over 40 years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Altoona, where she served as an usher, greeter, and helped with the senior lunch ministry.
Mona also helped served meals for veterans at the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post #456, Williamsburg and volunteered at the Woodbury Township polling facility.
She loved her family and also enjoyed cooking, shopping and golfing.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm, Sunday, July 19, 2020 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Altoona, Lay Pastor Kevin Barron officiating. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
