Murray J. Gardner

Murray J. Gardner, 82, of Canoe Creek, rural Hollidaysburg, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1944 in Canoe Creek; son of the late Walter S., Sr. and Lillian (Snyder) Gardner.

Murray served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed the time he spent at the previous Canoe Creek Sportsman’s Club. Murray retired from Smith Masonry – Hollidaysburg.

Murray was preceded in death by his siblings: Walter S. Gardner, Jr. (Evelyn), Gordon “Cork” Gardner (Wilma), and George “Bud” Gardner (Dorothy). Surviving is his loving partner of many years, Bonnie Patz; nephew, Walter “Skip” Gardner (Lenora); nephew, Timothy Gardner (Elaine); nephew, Terry Gardner (Cindy Lou); niece, Cindy Brown (Bill); as well as 7 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 NOON Funeral Service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Williamsburg; Pastor Ron Campbell officiating. Interment will be in New Canoe Creek Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Murray’s name may be made to UPMC Home Healthcare and Family Hospice – Altoona (20 Sheraton Dr. Altoona, PA 16601).
