Nancy L. Detwiler, 80, Martinsburg, passed away Saturday evening at home.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Lester D. and Carrie C. (Sleighter) Burket. On October 13, 1956 she married Sam E. Detwiler in Martinsburg.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 60 years; and a daughter, Tammy L. Thompson (Barry Yarnall) of rural Claysburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Dugan; a brother, Robert Burket; and a son-in-law, William B. Thompson.
Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was employed as a sales clerk for Bowman’s Department Store, Martinsburg.
She attended the Brethren in Christ Church, Martinsburg for many years. Nancy enjoyed cooking and gardening but most of all she loved to raise and spoil all kinds of animals.
Friends will be received from 11am until the noon, funeral service, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, Pastor Earl E. Herr and Pastor Kenneth G. Downs officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
