Nancy Joan “Jo” Johnson

March 27, 1933 ~ December 6, 2024

Nancy Joan “Jo” Johnson, 91, went home to be with the Lord, Friday evening, December 6, 2024 at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Samuel Leo and Edna M. (Keith) Johnson.

Surviving are two brothers: Don Johnson and Ken Johnson (Nancy) both of Martinsburg; a sister-in-law, Carol Johnson of Duncansville; and many nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Russell Johnson and Harold Johnson; and two sisters-in-law: Jo Johnson and Helen Johnson.

Joan was a 1951 graduate of Roaring Spring High School.  After graduating she worked as a switch board operator for United Telephone in Roaring Spring.  She later retired in 1995 from Blank Book Company, Roaring Spring, where she was employed in the shipping department.

She was a lifetime member of Roaring Spring First Church of the Brethren.

Joan loved spending time with her family, especially at their cottage in Big Bend Beach, Bedford County.  She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and playing bingo.

Friends will be received from 10 until 11am, Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Roaring Spring First Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor David Crumrine officiating.  Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
