Patricia Mae (Rostella) Nemarich, 87, resident of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg formerly of Altoona and Silver Spring, MD, passed away late Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Frank V. and Emma E. (Calderone) Rostella and was formerly married to Joseph Nemarich.
Surviving are son, Christopher Nemarich (Mary) of Arnold, MD; a daughter, Dr. Judith Feick (David) of Newark, DE; 5 grandchildren: Christopher, Catherine and Joseph Nemarich and John and Megan Feick; a sister, Judith Mierley (John) of Huntingdon; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Rostelli of Warminster.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Rostelli; a sister, Velma Jerkovitz; and a brother-in-law, Joe Jerkovitz.
Patricia was a 1947 graduate of Williamsburg High School, a 1950 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Altoona and received her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1985 from the University of Maryland University College.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona where she sang in the church choir, served as an organist and was a frequent volunteer.
Patricia began her career as a registered nurse in Washington D.C. and later worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the Federal Government. She moved from Silver Spring, MD to Altoona in 1986 and worked various jobs in medical records and billing until her retirement.
She was a devoted Catholic, loved playing the piano, singing and writing short stories and poetry and had several of her poems published.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11:30 am, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral mass will follow at noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Matthew Reese officiating. Interment will be held at old St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, located beside the church.
