Phyllis L. (Crissman) Lamborn, 85, of Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on October 19, 2024 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born on November 20, 1938 in St. Clairsville; daughter of the late Blair F. and Isabelle (Weyant) Crissman. On May 20, 1958 at the Osterburg Lutheran Church Parsonage, she was united in marriage to Merle W. Lamborn; he preceded her in death on November 9, 2015.
Phyllis was a Class of 1957 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. She first worked as a waitress at Chilcoat’s Restaurant and retired as an oral surgery office receptionist. Phyllis was an active member of the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and Faith United Methodist Church -Woodbury. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking large family dinners for the holidays, especially Christmas, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; grandson, Alexander B. Barkman; and siblings, Dorothy Jean McCormick, Dorla J. Croyl, Donna B. Hillegass, Norma J. Jones, and Joseph R. Crissman. Surviving is son, Wayne E. Lamborn of New Enterprise; daughter, Tammy Jo Barkman (Lance) of Roaring Spring; daughter, Lesa Ka Pressel (Mark) of New Enterprise; grandchildren, Janelle D. Knab (David), Logan C. Barkman, and Joshua J. Ott; great-grandchildren, Gavin A. and Camden A. Knab; and sister, Fern Deremer.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 12:00PM funeral service at Homewood at Martinsburg - Bice Memorial Chapel; Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Phyllis’s name may be made to the Homewood at Martinsburg Benevolent Fund.
