Ray E. Snyder

Ray E. Snyder, 89, of Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on February 6, 2016 at the Village at Morrisons Cove. Born on July 22, 1926 in New Enterprise, the son of Jay T. and Elsie B. (Wineland) Snyder. On January 29, 1949 at Raven Run he married Ella E. Steele. Ray was a dairy farmer all of his life and it was his true passion.  He was a member of the Waterside Church of the Brethren where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was also an Auditor for Bloomfield Township, a School Board Director for NBC, and was Treasure of the Holsinger Cemetery Association. Survivors include his wife Ella; daughter Lucille Dell (George) of Henrietta; daughter Wilma Wiest (Willard) of New Enterprise; son Merle Snyder of New Enterprise; son Paul Snyder (Janet) of New Enterprise; sister Mary C. Keller of Bellmeade; and grandchildren Shane Snyder, Sara Smith, Heather Wiest, and Amanda Wiest. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury. On Wednesday, February 10, 2016 a funeral service will take place at the Waterside Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mike Benner officiating at 11:00AM. Friends will be received the hour before the service. Interment at Holsinger Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to either Waterside Church of the Brethren or the Village at Morrisons Cove.
