Ray E. Zook, 87, resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, passed away Saturday afternoon at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief battle with Leukemia.

He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Paul and Myrtle (Weaver) Zook.  He married Betty J. Teeter on June 25, 1949 in Martinsburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years; 2 daughters: Janet Dennis (Ron) and Barbara Lynch; 2 sons: Marlin (Artie Albright) and Vance (Tammy Wilkinson); seven grandchildren: Christie, Cindy, Alison, Ethan, Derek, Dylan and Elaina; 2 great grandchildren: Corinne and Caitlin; 2 sisters: Esther Teeter and Carolyn Zook; 5 brothers: Ralph, Lloyd, Richard, Dale and Leon.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry; and a son-in-law, Frank Lynch.

Ray was a 1946 graduate of Martinsburg High School, and a lifetime member of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg.

He owned Zook’s Mobile Milling, managed the Martinsburg Park, and also maintained the golf carts at Iron Master’s Country Club.

Ray was an active member and served on the board of directors for, the Martinsburg Borough, Iron Master’s Country Club, and the Silver Pines Condo Association in Orlando, FL.

He enjoyed hunting, golfing (six hole-in-ones), softball, bowling, and southern gospel music.  Ray truly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Memorial Church of the Brethren, 210 N. Wall St., Martinsburg, PA  16662.
