Raymond G. Wolfe, 73, of Pensacola, FL formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Friday evening, December 20, 2024 at The Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, following an extended illness.

He was born in McKeesport, son of the late Raymond Clair and Bonita (Hall) Wolfe.  On April 26, 1986 he married Sharon D. Wareham in Washington DC.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Sharon of 38 years; a sister, Catherine Painter of Pittsburgh; two nephews: Matthew Monheim (Gina) and William Wareham (Lori); and three nieces: Lauren Bedont (Eric), Jordan Chismar (Bryan) and Dawn Wall (John).

He was preceded in death by a niece, Justine (Wareham) Smith.

Ray was a 1970 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Jefferson Hills.  In 1970 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Vietnam War and later was stationed in Spain to support of our men and women during Desert Storm.  Ray retired in 1992 after 22 years in the U.S. Navy and attained the rank of Cryptologic Technician, Senior Chief Petty Officer.

After his service to our country he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Penn State University and then attained his Master’s in Education from Saint Francis University, Loretto.  Ray spent 14 years as an art teacher with the Hollidaysburg Area School District.

Ray was a proud member of the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, where assisted at many funerals. He was also a member and past commander at the D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43, Martinsburg and a member of the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club in Pensacola, FL.

While living in Pensacola he was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Ray loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed camping, boating and golfing.

Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a mass outside of church will begin at 1pm.   Interment with full military honors will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Contributions in memory of Ray may be given to the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, 1665 Newry Lane, Duncansville, PA 16635.
