Rebecca A. Ross, 99, Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024, at her home.

She was born in Catharine Township, daughter of the late Jack A. Newman and Elvie (Anderson) Newman-Newcomer. On November 15, 1946, she married John C. Ross in Harrisburg. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2000, following 53 years of marriage.

Surviving are seven children: Donald L. Ross, of Ephrata, David P. Ross of Williamsburg, Connie M. Reffner of Bedford, Pauline W. Eastep (Daniel) of Williamsburg, Gladys R. Ross of Harrisburg, Kenneth E. Ross, and Twila J. “Butterball” Ross, both of Williamsburg; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Kifer of Clappertown; and a special friend, Marie Cole of Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by a son, John C. Ross, Jr.; two great-granddaughters: Angelina Cicero and Sierra Staniszewski; two daughters-in-law: Deborah K. Ross and Kate Ross; and two sons-in-law: Rickie W. Reffner and Ronald P. Smith.

Rebecca attended Fox Hollow School, rural Williamsburg. She was a member of Clappertown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, rural Williamsburg.

Rebecca’s greatest joy in life was raising her children and watching all of her grandchildren grow. She loved dancing, cooking, camping at Friendship Village Campground, and completing word search puzzles.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, January 5, 2024, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the home, Pastor Brad Davis officiating.
