Rhoda A. (Wanca) Beach

Rhoda A. (Wanca) Beach, 84, of rural Roaring Spring, passed away, Friday afternoon, March 5, 2021 at The Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Henge) Wanca.  On October 31, 1953 she married Ray W. Beach at the Clappertown CMA Church.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 67 years; two sons: Randall W. Beach (Debbie) of Elmira, NY and Ronald W. Beach of Altoona; a daughter, Rhonda A. Beach of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Rhoda was preceded in death by a son, Richard W. “Ricky” Beach.

She attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and completed her high school education while living in Toccoa, Georgia.  Rhoda was a graduate of Mansfield University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education.

While growing up in rural Williamsburg, Rhoda was a member of the Clappertown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and more recently attended Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus.  She and her husband, Ray, were instrumental in the creation of a Christian School in both Wellsboro and Harrison Valley.

Rhoda loved spending time with her family and their card playing friends, Marlin and Jean Cohick & Tom and Phoebe Reigh.  She also enjoyed flower gardening and watching hummingbirds feed in their back yard.

Friends will be received from 11:30am until 1pm, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home, Pastor Caleb Moses officiating.

Memorial contributions in memory of Rhoda may be given to Clappertown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 3239 Piney Creek Rd., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
