     Richard L. Claar 78, of rural Williamsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1948 in Roaring Spring a son of the late Orville Jesse and Laura (Mowry) Claar. He is survived by his wife Charlotte (Chamberlain) Claar, a daughter Greta L. Albright and husband William, of rural Williamsburg, three grandchildren: Laura Claar, Brittany Albright, and Anastasia Gaida; two great-grandchildren; and three siblings: George Claar and wife Michelle of East Freedom, Rachel Claar, of Duncansville, and Ronald Claar and wife Crystal of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by a son Jason A. Claar.

     Richard was a 1966 graduate of Central High School. Over the years he was employed at Seton Manufacturing, Saxton, as an ice cream maker at Ritchey’s Dairy, and eventually retired from the former Warnaco, in Duncansville. Richard also enjoyed being a driver for the local Mennonite community, and was a member of the Martinsburg Sportsman’s Club, and the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church. He was always keeping busy, whether it was working around the home, hunting, fishing, or just simply being outdoors and watching the wildlife around his home. Richard enjoyed listening to steel guitar music, and welcoming the birth of his two great-granddaughters. He will be missed immensely.

     Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from noon until the 2:00 pm funeral service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg, with Pastor Brian McCall officiating. Private interment at Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
