Richard S. “Rick” Hartman

Richard S. “Rick” Hartman, 79, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, December 25, 2024 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
He was born in Woodbury, son of the late Paul A. and Mary C. (Buell) Hartman. On May 31, 1996 he married Joanne L. Musselman in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Joanne of 28 years; two sons: Joshua W. Feathers of New Enterprise and Jeremiah W. Feathers of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren: Eric W.S. Feathers, Brielle D. Feathers, Noah A. Feathers, Holden C. Feathers and Layla G. Feathers; a sister, Nancy A. Hammond; and three brothers: Glenn W. Hartman, Bruce A. Hartman (Becky) and Rex L. Hartman (Karen).
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul A. Hartman Jr.
Rick was a 1965 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. After graduating he worked in construction for many years. Rick retired from the Spring Cove School District, where he worked as a custodian at the Central High School for 16 years and was affectionately known by many as Guido.
He was a former member of Claysburg Church of God, where he taught Sunday school and helped with the youth programs. Rick was a former, active member of Faith Assembly of God, where he shuttled many of the youth groups to various activities. He was currently a member of Journey Church in Hollidaysburg.
Rick volunteered at Homewood at Martinsburg and was a fixture with the Men’s Bible Study Group, who met in Martinsburg on Fridays.
He loved spending time with his family and weekly workouts with Joanne at ProCare in Roaring Spring. Rick also enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard and the many hours he spent helping with his church’s youth groups.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, January 3, 2025 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and from 10 until 11am, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the funeral home, where a celebration of life service will begin at 11am, Pastor Jeremiah Baker officiating.
Contributions in memory of Rick may be given to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
