Richard Carl Scott, 88, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Williamsburg and Buffalo, NY, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 9, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ralph W. and Stella G. (Shultz) Scott.  On November 23, 1973, he married Nancy A. Henry in Buffalo, NY, and she preceded him in death on January 17, 2008, following 34 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Robin Joyner (Scott) and Renee Isula (David), both of Buffalo, NY; 10 grandchildren: Greg Jr., Amanda, Aaron, Randy Jr., Andrew, Courtney, Shawna, Connor, Joseph, and Thomas; and 7 great-grandchildren: Brayden, Kaysen, Spencer, Zayden, Destiny, Isaiah, and Shayla.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randall W. Scott.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Williamsburg High School, where he played football as a tight end . He was a US Navy veteran, serving from 1955-1959, attaining the rank of Machinist Mate 3rd Class.  He retired in 1996 from Exide Electronics, Raleigh, NC, after 18 years of service.  After retirement, Richard worked as a machinist for Bostrum Ford in Wake Forest, NC.

He was a member of various square dancing clubs, including the Swinging Squares, and was a former member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Richard also took pride and joy in his classic cars. He won numerous awards at car shows for his ‘65 Chevelle and ’79 F-100 Custom pick-up truck.

Friends will be received from 10:30 am until noon on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at noon, Pastor C. Matthew Roberts officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Williamsburg.
