ROBERT E. McCARTNEY JR. 89, of Martinsburg. Died 08/13/2012 at the Altoona Regional Health System. Born 07/09/1923 in Altoona, the son of Robert E. Sr. and Lillie M. (Stahl) McCartney. Married Dorothy (Burket) in1948 at Bellwood. He att. The Martinsburg Church of God. He retired from Conrail after 41 years of service, he also served in the Navy during WWII.
Survived by his wife, three daughters Judith a. Pearce of Sanford NC, MaryLou Argabright and husband Peter of Canton OH, Amy Zwayer and husband Ken of Amanda OH. One son Robert E. the 3rd and wife Karen of Six mile run. One sister Janet R. Laratonda and a brother Virgil C. McCartney, 15 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Friends received 9 – 11am Thursday the 16th at the Martinsburg Church of God where an 11 am service will be held by pastor Lew Button. Inlue of flowers memorials maybe made to the Martinsburg Church of God.
