Robert R. Erb, 87, a resident of Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg for the last 5 years, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away late Wednesday at the Village.
He was born in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Roy J. and Frances (Acker) Erb. On June 8, 1962 he married Delores J. Lane in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years; a daughter, Lugene A. Byrnes of Duncansville; a step-son, Byron A. Lane of rural Williamsburg; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather N. Lane; a son-in-law, Richard C. Byrnes; a sister, Mabel Fouse; and a brother, Eugene Erb.
Bob was a 1948 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving in the infantry division, attaining the rank of corporal.
Bob was a member of the Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Williamsburg Lions, Williamsburg Beagle Club, Martinsburg Sportsman Club, Portage Lodge #220 F&AM, Hollidaysburg and also a longtime, former member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
He retired in 1990 as a general utility person from Penelec, Williamsburg with 23 years of service. Bob also operated heavy equipment for Lane Brothers, Williamsburg for many years.
Bob loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and he also enjoyed hunting, gardening, landscaping, and watching Williamsburg High School sports, Penn State games and all the Pittsburgh teams.
Friends will be received from 2-5pm, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
