Robert J. Elbin

Robert J. Elbin, 88, of Woodbury, passed away on September 28, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. He was born on January 6, 1933 in Artemas; son of the late Stewart Elbin and Molly Day. On June 28, 1952 in Flintstone, Maryland; he was united in marriage to Leona (Poole) Elbin. Robert was a union carpenter from 1957 until his retirement in 1995. He loved racing and everything about it; having last raced in the 1970’s. Robert also enjoyed black powder shooting and was a past member of the Cove Lions Club. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila Elbin. Surviving are his wife Leona; son Robert Jr. and wife Bonnie of Bedford; son Steve and wife Sandy of State College; daughter Sharon Beach and husband Bobby of Frosty Hollow; son Tim and wife Suzanne of Carlisle; as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Robert’s name can be made to the Museum of Speed; 261 Shangri Ln.
