Robert John “Bob” Wisker

Robert John “Bob” Wisker, 72, of Martinsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday morning, May 29, 2025 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Gilbert A. and Claire G. (Wallace) Wisker. On June 4, 1977 he married Marjorie L. Chamberlain in Williamsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Marjorie of 48 years; a sister, Carol A. Wisker (Howard Brunner) of Philadelphia; a brother, John M. Wisker (Joyce McDonald) of Cumberland, MD; two nieces: Nichole Strano (Jorge Saenz) and Amanda Post (Kyle); three great-nephews: Johnavan Caffarelli, Bailey Post and Kaiden Post; and a great-niece, Aubrea Post.
Bob was a 1971 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He then attended Mansfield State College and later earned a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science from Stockton State College, Pomona, NJ.
After graduating from college he was employed as a Geological Assistant on oil rigs off the coast of New Jersey and Louisiana. In 2002, Bob retired as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was also a licensed pilot, making his first solo flight on March 8, 1989 and later earned his flight instructor certificate.
He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association and the former Williamsburg Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Bob was a loving husband, with a keen sense of humor, a drive for adventure and was proud of his Irish heritage. He also enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, listening to music, selling music and equipment on EBay and collecting vinyl records. Bob had an extensive collection of blues and rock music.
Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 1pm, Pastor James Laird and Pastor J. Brant Leidy officiating. Private interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
