Robert S. Detweiler, 89, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at The Oaks. He was born on June 10, 1928 in Bedminster, PA; son of the late Harvey R. and Anna (Stover) Detweiler. On August 20, 1949 he married Anna Mary Gahman in Perkasie, PA at the home of her parents William and Naomi. She preceded him in death on January 20, 1999. On May 27,2000 at the Martinsburg Mennonite Church he married Dorothy Stauffer. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2007. Robert was a member of the Martinsburg Mennonite Church and a previous member of the Deep Run Mennonite Church East in Perkasie. He was an avid reader; gardening was his passion, both flowers and vegetables; he enjoyed spending time with his boys hunting and fishing; he was a dabbler in woodworking; and was on a bowling league. Robert was a truck driver, driving 30+ years for Theodore Gross Inc. in Doylestown. After this he drove for M&M Stone Quarry in Telford, Johnny Russell in Warriors Mark, Gene Irvin Trucking in Tyrone, and lastly for Larry Kulp on his farm in Martinsburg. For many years, Robert belonged to the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company in Plumsteadville, PA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Mary (Gahman) Detweiler; second wife Dorothy (Stauffer) Detweiler; great-grandson Noah Enoch; brothers Allen S. and Ernest S. Detweiler; and sisters Marie Styer and Blanche Bechtel. Surviving are sons R. Dennis Detweiler of Telford, PA; John W. Detweiler of Pennsburg, PA; Roger D. Detweiler of Ellisburg, NY; daughters Marcia A. Weimer and Ernestine L. Hamilton of Mill Hall, PA; sister Bertha Rush of Sellersville, PA; brother Donald Detweiler of Manheim, PA; as well as 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 7:00-9:00PM at Weaver Funeral Home (114 Main St. Woodbury, PA 16695). A second visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 10:00-until the hour of service at the Martinsburg Mennonite Church (300 E. Spring St. Martinsburg, PA 16662). At 11:00AM, a funeral service will take place with Pastors Joe Furry and Jack Styer officiating. A luncheon will be served after for all attending the funeral service. Interment will be at Spring Mount Brethren Church Cemetery (1690 Ridge Rd. Warriors Mark, PA 16877) at 3:00PM with a graveside service conducted by Pastor Jack Styer. Memorial Contributions in Robert’s name can be made to the Martinsburg Mennonite Church (300 E.
