Robert F. Winston

      Robert F. Winston 87, of Martinsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital with his daughter by his side. He was born in Johnstown, a son of the late Walter and Veronica “Vera” (Boxler) Winston. On May 17, 1969 he married Patricia Joyce (Ashom) Winston who preceded him in death on January 16, 2026. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Lynn Winston, of Martinsburg.

      Robert served in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic stationed in Korea. He returned home to Johnstown and started his career as a optician, and after the Johnstown flood of 1977, he and his family relocated to Martinsburg. Robert continued his career with Dr. Jones in Roaring Spring until his retirement. He was a lifelong train and aviation enthusiast, enjoyed reading, hiking, and military history.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 9:30 am at the Fairview Cemetery, in Martinsburg, with Pastor Traci Marriott officiating.
